Rosebriar – Dining in the Country
began as a dream of Debbie Sisk while she was traveling to New York as a buyer for a large retail chain.
“I enjoy being with people and entertaining, and my dream was to have a unique twist on Southern hospitality. I wanted people to let me cater their parties in my home,” says Debbie.
To make this dream a reality, Debbie and her husband, Rick, first had to build a house to accommodate Debbie’s business. However, they wanted a place where guests would feel as though they had stepped back in time.
Rick and Debbie designed their modern house to look like an old planter’s cottage. It is set off a dirt road, and overlooks a large fishing pond in the back. Surrounded by trees, gardens, and roses (of course), it contains architectural elements that add to the quaintness of the home. Many of the pieces included in the structure were obtained by Rick and Debbie in estate sales, like the old fireplace mantels and tall wooden framed doors.
After Debbie first opened Rosebriar for business, several guests from Memphis drove up the dirt lane toward the house. They were amazed when they had to stop – literally – because of the cows in the road! Apparently, their neighbor’s cows had gotten out of the fence. But occurrences like these only add to the charming appeal of Rosebriar.
Rosebriar – Dining in the Country has been serving guests for 20+ years now. Debbie provides an old-fashioned dining experience that includes fine china, silver, linens, and fresh flowers in an inviting Southern atmosphere. Guests love the special attention to detail, the home-cooked meals and desserts, and the graciousness of the servers. Hosts and hostesses love having someone else do all the planning, cooking, and cleaning!
